About
My work is inspired by the poetry of all things. I draw the world around me every day. Abstraction, spirituality, and joy inform my attempts to shape the things we can't name. My current body of work is inspired by personal and collective grief.
Again and again, I come back to the same images: boats, kites, horses, fire--objects with a specific kind of momentum and energy. As the world burns around us, I invite the viewer to join me in pursuing radical joy, hope, and reverence for vitality as it exists within and around us.

Bio
​​Kirsten Hemrich is an award-winning artist based in Brooklyn, NY. Her work has been published and exhibited internationally. She has also worked extensively in curatorial roles for galleries and corporate collections based in Virgina.
